The Role
As an Assistant Caretaker, you will work closely with the Site Manager/Caretaker to ensure the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site.

Carry out general repairs and basic maintenance tasks where required.

Ensure classrooms, communal areas, playgrounds and external areas are safe and presentable.

Support with setting up and clearing rooms for school activities and events.

Carry out routine checks of the building, grounds and facilities.

Report any maintenance, health and safety or security issues promptly.

Assist with opening and securing the school site when required.

Support deliveries, contractors and visitors accessing the premises.

Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Follow school health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures.

Work as part of the wider premises and facilities team.
