Attendance Officer Opportunity – Sutton
Education First is looking for an organised, proactive and experienced Attendance Officer to join a secondary school in Sutton.
This is a full-time maternity cover position, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced school administrator or attendance professional to join a busy school environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in monitoring and improving pupil attendance, working closely with pupils, parents, carers and school staff.
The Role
As an Attendance Officer, your responsibilities may include:

Monitoring daily pupil attendance and absence

Following up on unexplained and persistent absences

Contacting parents and carers regarding attendance concerns

Maintaining accurate attendance records
-
Identifying patterns and trends in pupil attendance
-
Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
-
Supporting attendance improvement strategies

Preparing attendance information and reports
-
Communicating with pupils regarding attendance
-
Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information

Following school attendance, safeguarding and child protection procedures
What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a school or education setting

Experience working in attendance, administration or pastoral support

Previous experience as an Attendance Officer within a secondary school would be desirable.
