Commercial Operations Coordinator – Fresh Produce / Soft Fruit

About the Role
Talent Agri is recruiting an experienced Commercial Operations Coordinator to join an established and expanding business within the UK fresh produce and soft fruit sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and highly organised individual to support the coordination of commercial activities, customer requirements, production planning and supply chain operations.
Working closely with commercial, growing, harvesting, packhouse and logistics teams, you will play an important role in ensuring the efficient movement of fresh produce from production through to customers.
The successful candidate will have strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily commercial operations, ensuring customer orders and delivery requirements are managed effectively.

Support sales planning, production forecasting and customer requirements.

Liaise with growing, harvesting and packhouse teams to monitor crop availability and production volumes.

Manage customer orders, stock allocation and delivery schedules.

Maintain accurate commercial records, including sales orders, pricing, forecasts and operational reports.

Monitor stock levels and product movements to minimise waste and maximise product availability.

Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and logistics providers.

Prepare commercial performance reports and monitor operational KPIs.

Support the resolution of customer queries, delivery discrepancies and supply chain challenges.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, communication and commercial performance.
Qualifications & Experience

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Agriculture or a related discipline is desirable.

Previous experience in commercial operations, supply chain coordination, sales administration or a similar role within fresh produce, food production or FMCG.

Strong understanding of order management, stock control and operational planning.

Previous experience within the UK soft fruit or fresh produce industry would be advantageous.

Understanding of seasonal crop production, harvesting schedules and fresh produce supply chains.

Experience working with major UK retailers or fresh produce marketing organisations would be beneficial.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Knowledge of ERP systems and commercial planning software would be advantageous.

Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with the ability to interpret commercial and operational data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across different departments.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing priorities.

Understanding of fresh produce quality standards, product specifications and traceability requirements.
Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
