Permanent Chef – Care Home
Location: Pembroke Care, 32 Alexandra Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5PF
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join a care home in Reading, Berkshire on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals for residents.

Cater for different dietary requirements, including special and modified diets where required.

Plan and prepare menus in line with residents' nutritional needs.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.

Manage kitchen stock and minimise food waste.

Work effectively as part of the care home team.

Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Requirements:

Previous Chef/Cook experience in a care home or similar healthcare setting is essential.

Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety.

Experience catering for elderly residents and special dietary requirements.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable, organised and able to maintain high standards.

Relevant food safety qualifications are desirable.
