Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer to join an established team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, a hands-on approach, and experience working with plant, machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or commercial vehicles.
The Role
Working within a busy workshop environment, you’ll be responsible for keeping a range of plant and machinery operating safely and efficiently.
Your duties will include:

Carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant and machinery.

Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.

Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs.

Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Following all relevant health and safety procedures.

Working independently while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.
About You
I’m looking for someone who has proven experience within a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Agricultural Engineer, or similar mechanical role.
You’ll need to be practical, reliable, and confident diagnosing faults and working on a variety of mechanical systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are important, particularly given the fast-paced nature of the workshop.
Key Requirements

Valid driving licence.

Previous experience in a mechanical or Plant Fitter position.

Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs effectively.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong commitment to health and safety.

Relevant mechanical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.

Experience working with construction equipment, agricultural machinery, plant, or commercial vehicles.
