Kitchen Assistant
Location: Loughborough
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am–4:00pm
Contract: Permanent

We’re recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join a busy workplace catering team in Loughborough. This is a hands on position where you’ll support with food preparation, cooking, service and maintaining high standards across the kitchen.
With no evening or weekend working, this could be a great opportunity for someone from a catering, café, restaurant or kitchen background looking for a better work-life balance.
What will you be doing?

Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard

Following daily menus, recipes and portion control guidelines

Preparing breakfasts, lunches, snacks, salads and hot dishes

Supporting food service during busy periods

Monitoring food quality, freshness and presentation

Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures

Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organised

Working closely with the wider catering team to ensure a smooth service
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you’ll have:

Previous experience working within a kitchen, catering or food-service environment

A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification preferred

An NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery would be advantageous

Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety and allergen awareness

Good attention to detail and a commitment to food quality

The ability to work well as part of a team

Confidence working in a busy catering environment
