Engage Education are currently recruiting for a reliable, proactive and hands-on School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant or maintenance professional looking to work within a school environment and play an important role in keeping the site safe, secure and well maintained.
The Role
As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of the school premises.
Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean and secure.

Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.

Completing regular checks of the site, including doors, windows, lighting and facilities.

Opening and locking the school premises as required.

Setting up and moving furniture and equipment for school activities.
-
Managing deliveries and contractors attending the site.
-
Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where necessary.

Supporting health and safety procedures across the school.

Maintaining outdoor areas and ensuring the grounds are presentable.

Assisting with emergency procedures and site security.

Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and safety checks.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and school staff.

Previous experience as a school caretaker, site manager, facilities assistant, maintenance operative or similar role would be advantageous.
Knowledge of health & safety, safeguarding and school site procedures is desirable.
