Do you hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle? You must be able to drive for this Learning Support Assistant role.
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Yeovil that supports children and young people aged 5 to 16 across Key Stages 1 to 4, including pupils with SEMH needs, medical conditions and those who have experienced permanent exclusion or difficulties within mainstream education. The school builds its ethos around the belief that learning happens when children feel safe, secure and supported through positive relationships.
The school is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, short-term temporary basis, starting ASAP. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with their learning, emotional wellbeing and engagement while helping to maintain a safe, consistent and positive environment, and must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within an SEMH, SEND or alternative provision setting
• Experience working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support
• A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle, which is essential for this role
• A patient and resilient approach to supporting children and young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A flexible and positive attitude
