Delivery and Service Associate (282jc) – Macclesfield/Field Based - £36,000 – £40,000 + Benefits
Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Delivery and Service Associate to join their technical operations team.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
This is considerably more than a straightforward driving position. You will be responsible for transporting, deploying, setting up and supporting specialist mobile medical units at locations throughout the UK, Europe and occasionally further overseas.
Working either independently or as part of a deployment team, you will ensure each mobile unit arrives safely, is positioned and set up correctly, and is fully operational and ready for the customer.
The position would particularly suit someone from a military transport, logistics, engineering, operations or technical support background who is accustomed to working independently, following procedures and taking responsibility for getting the job completed properly.
The original role specifically requires candidates to be comfortable working away from home for extended periods and travelling throughout the UK and overseas.
Key Responsibilities
-
Drive specialist vehicles/mobile units to customer locations in accordance with agreed schedules and routes.
-
Liaise directly with customers and site contacts regarding access, positioning and deployment.
-
Set up the vehicle, unit and associated equipment to the required operational standard.
-
Work alongside the wider deployment team to resolve problems and ensure successful delivery.
-
Maintain vehicles and mobile units to a high standard of presentation and operational readiness.
-
Undertake basic maintenance, preparation and servicing activities when required.
-
Complete site surveys, risk assessments and associated operational documentation.
-
Maintain accurate driving, tachograph and Working Time Directive records.
-
Report vehicle damage, incidents or operational issues promptly.
-
Provide a professional customer-facing service throughout every deployment.
These responsibilities reflect the original specification's emphasis on deployment, vehicle presentation, servicing, documentation and compliance.
What We Are Looking For
You will need to be someone who is comfortable being trusted to get on with the job without constant supervision.
Essential requirements include:
-
Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence
-
Strong professional driving and road-safety standards
-
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
-
Good organisational and time-management abilities
-
Practical approach to problem solving
-
High standards of personal and equipment presentation
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-
Flexible attitude towards working hours and changing operational requirements
-
Willingness and ability to work away from home
-
Ability to travel extensively throughout the UK and overseas
-
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
-
Willingness to undergo a DBS check
Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge would also be advantageous.
Candidates from the RLC, REME, Royal Engineers, RAF MT, logistics, transport, engineering or operational support environments may already possess many of the attributes required: safe vehicle operation, equipment care, deployment experience, working away from home, attention to detail, documentation, customer liaison and the ability to deal with problems without needing constant direction.
You do not need to come from the healthcare sector. What matters is that you are reliable, practical, professional and comfortable taking ownership of an operational task from start to finish.
