Carpentry Assessor

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
A leading further education college based in Northamptonshire is looking for a passionate and experienced Carpentry Assessor to join their team and support the development of the next generation of trade professionals.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with apprentices and learners, guiding them through their qualifications and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct workplace assessments for Carpentry apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards.
Provide tailored support, feedback, and guidance to learners to support their progress.
Monitor and record learner achievements using digital platforms and e-portfolios.
Liaise with employers and training providers to coordinate assessment visits.
Ensure all assessments comply with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of learner progress and outcomes.
Person Specification
Vocational qualification in Carpentry at Level 3 or above.
Recognized Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA, or A1).
Up-to-date industry knowledge and hands-on experience.
Level 4 teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one).
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport for regular employer site visits.
Strong communication skills with a proven track record of delivering constructive feedback.
Familiarity with qualification frameworks, regulatory bodies, and e-portfolio systems.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
