Health & Safety Advisor – Commercial Fit Out / Refurbishment
Bristol City Centre | £50M+ Refurbishment & Retrofit Scheme
We are working with a leading commercial fit out contractor delivering a major £50M+ refurbishment and retrofit project in Bristol City Centre, transforming a large-scale development into a high-quality modern workspace.
Due to continued project progression, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the project team and help maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the site.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional with experience working on major construction, refurbishment or commercial fit out projects.
The Role

Supporting the implementation and monitoring of the project health and safety strategy

Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks

Providing practical health and safety advice and guidance to the project team

Working closely with site management, subcontractors and project stakeholders

Monitoring compliance with relevant legislation, company policies and project procedures
-
Assisting with the preparation and review of RAMS, risk assessments and method statements

Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations
-
Monitoring site standards and identifying areas for improvement

Delivering or supporting toolbox talks, inductions and health and safety briefings

Maintaining accurate health and safety records and documentation

Supporting the promotion of a positive health and safety culture across the project
About You
-
Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction

Experience working on commercial fit out, refurbishment or retrofit projects would be advantageous
-
Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and best practice
-
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
-
IOSH membership would be advantageous
-
Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and site-based health and safety requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to build effective relationships with site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders

A proactive, practical and collaborative approach to health and safety
