The Leeds office continues to experience significant growth, creating an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Associate looking to accelerate their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Your new role
You will join a busy and well-established corporate practice, working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a diverse range of transactions. The role will have a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, while also providing exposure to private equity, corporate restructurings and equity capital markets work.
Key responsibilities will include:
Advising on mergers, acquisitions and corporate disposals.
Supporting and leading business and asset acquisitions, share sales and strategic transactions.
Assisting with private equity investments and management buy-outs.
Undertaking and managing due diligence exercises, data room reviews and disclosure processes.
Drafting and negotiating transaction documents and ancillary corporate documentation.
Preparing disclosure letters and supporting documentation.
Advising on shareholder agreements, joint ventures, LLP agreements and corporate reorganisations.
Supporting public company transactions, including IPOs and equity fundraising.
Building strong client relationships and gaining early exposure to clients and referrers.
Contributing to business development initiatives, tenders and networking activities.
What you'll need to succeed
Applications are welcomed from qualified solicitors with between 2 and 4 years' post-qualification experience gained within a recognised corporate team.
You should also demonstrate:
Strong experience advising on corporate transactions, particularly M&A matters.
Excellent technical drafting and negotiation skills.
The ability to confidently manage matters and client relationships with an appropriate level of supervision.
Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a growing team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A genuine ambition to progress your career within a successful national practice.
