Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) – Islington
Temporary / Agency | 30 hours per week | 4 days per week
We're recruiting an experienced IDVA to join a specialist domestic abuse support service (SASS) in Islington on a temporary agency basis.
Role overview:
Working within a busy specialist domestic abuse service, you'll provide high-quality, risk-led support to survivors of domestic abuse, including those at high risk of harm. You'll act as an advocate for service users, helping them navigate the criminal justice system, access safety planning, and connect with wider support services.
Key responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of clients at high risk of domestic abuse, providing crisis intervention and ongoing support

Conduct risk assessments (DASH/RIC) and safety planning

Represent clients at MARAC and other multi-agency meetings

Liaise with police, courts, social care, housing and other partner agencies

Support clients through the criminal and civil justice processes

Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements
What we're looking for:

Proven experience as an IDVA (CAADA/SafeLives IDVA qualification desirable)

Strong understanding of risk assessment and safety planning for domestic abuse survivors

Confident working within multi-agency partnerships, including MARAC

Excellent communication, advocacy and case management skills

Must be DBS and Right to Work ready
