Pipefitter – Hinkley Point C | £28 per Hour
CNC Recruitment is currently seeking experienced and qualified Pipefitters to work on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project.
We are looking for skilled Pipefitters with relevant site experience, strong technical knowledge and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
The successful Pipefitter will be responsible for:
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and pipework requirements.
Selecting, measuring and cutting stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy, iron, copper, aluminium and plastic pipework to the required dimensions.
Preparing, positioning and aligning pipework and flanges for welding, ensuring correct orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness and alignment.
Preparing pipework and components for welding and checking fit-up prior to welding.
Bending pipework using appropriate machinery, heating equipment or manual methods.
Joining metal pipework using appropriate methods, including soldering, threading and screwing.
Joining plastic pipework by cementing or heat fusion methods where required.
Forming pipework from sheet metal where required.
Inspecting pipe preparations, tack welds, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy.
Installing prefabricated pipework sections safely and accurately on site.
Operating relevant trade machinery and workshop equipment following appropriate training.
Operating overhead cranes and carrying out basic slinging activities safely.
Undertaking Firewatch and Standby duties as required.
Using oxy/fuel equipment for burning, heating and cutting activities.
Carrying out required safety checks on tools, equipment and machinery.
Following all HPC, client and company health & safety procedures.
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
Completing all relevant training and certification required for the role.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Approved Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
Minimum 2 years' relevant site experience.
Previous experience working on a petrochemical, nuclear, industrial or major construction site is highly desirable.
A valid Site Safety Passport.
Proven ability to read and work from engineering drawings and pipework specifications.
Practical experience with pipe preparation, fit-up, alignment and installation.
Experience with a range of pipe materials and joining methods.
Experience with overhead cranes and basic slinging is desirable.
Strong understanding of site safety procedures and permit-controlled working environments.
