Supply Desk are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and dedicated Primary School Caretaker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Watford area, starting this September.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented school environment. The successful candidate will be practical, organised, and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to ensuring the school site is maintained to a high standard for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and caretaking duties across the school site, ensuring the premises, grounds, facilities, and equipment are safe and operational. You will also work closely with school staff and external contractors where required, responding to any maintenance issues and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Responsibilities:
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
• Ensure the school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are maintained to a high standard
• Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any issues promptly
• Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises when required
• Liaise with contractors and external services as necessary
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors
• Cooperation with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible outcomes
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role is desirable
• Practical and hands-on approach to maintenance and problem solving
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment
• Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding
