Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Car Trimmer to join their dynamic automotive manufacturing and restoration team in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trimmer with a passion for craftsmanship and precision, eager to work on a diverse range of vehicles, including classic, luxury, commercial, and modern passenger vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Remove, repair, and install vehicle interior trim components to perfection.
Fit upholstery, carpets, headliners, door panels, dashboards, and seating systems with finesse.
Cut, shape, stitch, and fit a variety of materials such as leather, vinyl, fabric, and foam.
Carry out bespoke trimming work tailored to customer specifications.
Repair and refurbish damaged vehicle interiors, ensuring a high-quality finish.
Interpret technical drawings, templates, and trim specifications with accuracy.
Work with adhesives, sewing machines, hand tools, and specialist trimming equipment.
Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote efficiency.
Collaborate effectively with workshop technicians and project teams to meet deadlines.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as a Car Trimmer, Vehicle Trimmer, Upholsterer, or Automotive Interior Technician.
Strong knowledge of automotive upholstery and interior fitting techniques.
Experience working with leather, vinyl, fabric, and other trim materials.
Excellent attention to detail and a pride in workmanship.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong manual dexterity and practical skills.
Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
