Workshop Controller
Location: Avonmouth
Salary: Circa £36,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week
Shift: Monday to Friday – Day Shift

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and organised Workshop Controller to join our team in Avonmouth.
You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day workshop and fleet maintenance operation, ensuring vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and schedule planned maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs.

Allocate work to Workshop and Mobile Technicians.

Monitor workshop workload, productivity and repair progress.

Coordinate vehicle defects, breakdowns and recovery where required.

Manage vehicle VOR (Vehicle Off Road) activity and minimise downtime.

Ensure PMIs, MOT preparations and statutory inspections are completed on time.

Maintain accurate workshop and fleet records and ensure compliance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements.

Source parts and liaise with suppliers to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.

Monitor maintenance costs and support cost-control initiatives.

Produce daily workshop, fleet availability and maintenance reports.

Communicate repair progress and vehicle availability to operational teams and customers.

Promote a strong health & safety and compliance culture within the workshop.
About You

Previous experience in a workshop, fleet maintenance or transport environment.

Strong planning and organisational skills.

Good understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
-
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of fleet compliance and roadworthiness requirements.

Full UK Driving Licence
