A specialist site investigation consultancy is looking to add a Geophysicist to its London team.
This is a great opportunity for a geophysicist with 3-5 years' experience who is looking for a varied role combining site work, data processing, interpretation and reporting.
You'll be working on a range of ground investigation projects across London and the wider UK, alongside experienced geophysicists, geologists and engineers.
The Role
The role will involve a mixture of office and site-based work, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop your experience across a range of geophysical techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and carrying out geophysical surveys
Setting up and operating geophysical equipment
Collecting and quality checking field data
Processing and interpreting geophysical data
Producing technical reports, figures and drawings
Providing geophysical input into wider ground investigations
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Supporting project planning and preparation
Working alongside geotechnical and geoenvironmental teams
Travelling to sites across London and occasionally elsewhere in the UKThe projects are varied and will give you exposure to different ground conditions and challenging urban environments, with plenty of opportunity to broaden your technical experience.
About You
We're looking for someone with a degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related subject, with around 3-5 years' relevant experience.
You'll ideally have:
Commercial experience in geophysics or site investigation
Practical experience carrying out geophysical surveys
Good knowledge of geophysical data processing and interpretation
Experience producing technical reports
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and organisational skills
A practical approach and willingness to work on site
A full UK driving licence
