Welder / Fabricator
Location: Stockport
Salary: £16.50 – £25.00 per hour DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Haich Recruitment is working with an established engineering and fabrication business looking to add an experienced Welder/Fabricator to its team.
This is a varied position suited to someone who is comfortable with both welding and fabrication and can take work from an engineering drawing through to a completed fabrication.
The company is mostly workshop based, but can rarely undertake site-based fabrication, working across commercial, industrial and residential projects. Work can include bespoke steelwork, gates, railings, framework and other fabricated products, so we're looking for someone comfortable working across different jobs rather than repetitive production welding.
The role
-
MIG welding and general fabrication
-
Working independently from engineering/fabrication drawings
-
Measuring, marking out and cutting material
-
Preparing, fitting and tacking components
-
Fabricating assemblies from start through to completion
-
Using general fabrication equipment
-
Working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
-
Maintaining good welding and fabrication standards
What we're looking for
-
Previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator
-
MIG welding experience is essential. Experience with TIG, MMA/Stick, FCAW/Flux Core or other welding processes would be beneficial, but is NOT essential.
-
Able to fabricate independently rather than welding pre-prepared components only
-
Confident reading and working from drawings
-
Comfortable measuring, cutting, preparing, fitting and assembling work
-
Previous experience across bespoke, structural, architectural or general engineering fabrication would be useful not essential
MIG welding and hands-on fabrication experience are essential for this position.
We’re interested in hearing from both experienced Welder/Fabricators who can hit the ground running and those earlier in their career who already have a good practical level of MIG welding and fabrication experience but are looking to develop further.
Less-experienced candidates will still need to demonstrate that they can MIG weld to a good standard and carry out fabrication work, but further training and development can be provided to build on those existing skills.
£16.50–£25.00 per hour depending on experience and capability.
If you're a Welder/Fabricator looking for an opportunity apply with your CV and Haich Recruitment will be in touch.
