Air Export Coordinator Overview
My client is looking for an experienced Airfreight Export & Aerospace Operator to join their Airfreight Operations team in Santry, Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating and executing air export operations, with a particular focus on aerospace and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) logistics.
This is a fast-paced, time-critical role where attention to detail, communication and the ability to find solutions under pressure are essential. You will ensure urgent and routine shipments move efficiently through the supply chain while maintaining full compliance with international regulations, airline requirements and customer SLAs.
Air Export Coordinator Responsibilities
Process air export shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
Prepare and issue all required export documentation, including Air Waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin (COO) and export declarations.
Coordinate bookings with airlines, GSAs and consolidators to secure optimal routings and competitive rates.
Monitor cargo movements throughout the shipment lifecycle and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal teams.
Manage time-critical aerospace shipments, including AOG, routine and dedicated road freight solutions.
Liaise with MROs, OEMs, airlines, brokers and freight forwarders to ensure a rapid and effective response to urgent requirements.
Coordinate specialist handling requirements, including oversized cargo, dangerous goods and engines
Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking information for critical aerospace KPIs.
Ensure urgent aerospace shipments are handled efficiently and delivered within agreed customer timeframes.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with airlines, handling agents, carriers and other service partners.
Ensure all customer SOPs, procedures and agreed service levels are followed consistently.
Provide proactive communication throughout the shipment lifecycle, particularly where delays or operational issues arise.
Complete export customs declarations through AES and other relevant systems.
Handle Dangerous Goods shipments in accordance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, where appropriately certified.
Maintain accurate and timely operational records within the company's TMS and cargo systems.
Ensure billing information is accurate and support the Finance team with any invoice-related queries.
Ensure all shipments are processed in accordance with relevant customs, airline and international export requirements.
Air Export Coordinator Requirements
2+ years' experience within airfreight export operations, ideally with exposure to AOG or aerospace logistics.
Strong understanding of airfreight export procedures, airline bookings and export documentation.
Experience handling customs declarations and Irish export processes.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time-critical shipments.
Proficiency with cargo/TMS systems and Microsoft Office.
