Hays are working in partnership with a well-respected engineering consultancy in Omagh to recruit an MEP Site Engineer / Clerk of Works.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established practice that delivers projects across the commercial, education, healthcare and public sectors. The role would particularly suit someone with a background in plumbing, electrical, HVAC or building services who are looking to move away from installation work and into a technical site inspection and quality assurance position.
Your new role
Working across multiple projects, you will act as the consultancy's representative on site, inspecting and monitoring the quality of mechanical and electrical installations to ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and industry standards.
You will work closely with contractors, clients and design teams, identifying issues, monitoring progress and helping to ensure high standards of quality throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Undertaking regular site visits across a range of building services projects.
Inspecting mechanical and electrical installations to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and regulations.
Reviewing completed works against design drawings and project requirements.
Monitoring the quality and progress of works on site.
Producing detailed site inspection reports and documenting findings.
Identifying defects, non-conformances and areas requiring remedial action.
Liaising with contractors, subcontractors and design teams to resolve site issues.
Attending site meetings and providing technical feedback on project progress.
Witnessing testing and commissioning activities as required.
Supporting project delivery from installation through to completion.
Ensuring health, safety and quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery.What you'll need to succeed
Experience within building services consultancy, MEP contracting, M&E installation, commissioning or inspection.
A background in mechanical or electrical building services, gained through installation, commissioning, inspection, design support or project delivery.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Comfortable working independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.
Full UK/Irish Driving Licence.Ideal Backgrounds
