Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an ex-military / veteran Class 2 HGV Driver on behalf of one of our clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a former member of the Armed Forces looking to build a long-term career within a professional driving operation.
You will be responsible for driving an 18-tonne curtain-sided vehicle, completing multiple collections and deliveries across London and the South.
The role offers an excellent work-life balance, operating Monday to Friday with no evening or weekend work. Start and finish times can also be adjusted earlier where required.
Our client is specifically looking for ex-military or veteran drivers, recognising the strong transferable qualities gained through military service, including discipline, reliability, responsibility and a professional approach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Driving an 18-tonne curtain-sided vehicle.
Completing multiple collections and deliveries across London and the South.
Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.
Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
Completing all relevant delivery and collection paperwork.
Maintaining compliance with drivers' hours, tachograph and road transport legislation.
Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
Ensuring the vehicle is kept clean, secure and in good condition.
Working independently while maintaining strong communication with the wider team.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous service within the UK Armed Forces is essential.
Full HGV Class 2 / Category C licence.
Valid Driver CPC.
Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous Class 2 driving experience
Professional and responsible approach to driving.
Strong awareness of road safety and compliance.
Reliable, punctual and disciplined.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing a multi-drop/collection schedule.
Good knowledge of London and the South would be advantageous.
