Nelson Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and automation company for an experienced Panel Wireman to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical professional to work on a variety of exciting projects across industrial and commercial sectors. Opportunities are available for both workshop-based panel wiring and field-based installation and commissioning support, making this an ideal role for candidates looking to develop their career within the controls and automation industry.

Key Responsibilities

Build and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings and schematics.
Install, terminate, and test electrical components and control systems.
Read and interpret electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Carry out inspections, fault-finding, and quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
Support panel modifications, upgrades, and repairs as required.
Assist with on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Panel Wireman, Electrical Fitter, Control Panel Builder, or similar role.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience wiring control panels and industrial electrical equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent are advantageous.
Full UK Driving Licence is desirable, particularly for field-based positions.
