A specialist school in Reading is seeking a motivated Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to support young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social development.
You will work closely with pupils to understand the reasons behind their behaviour, helping them develop positive strategies and encouraging them to re-engage with education.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
Build strong, trusting relationships with students
Support pupils to manage their emotions and regulate their behaviour
Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and school
Help students develop confidence, resilience and social skills
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situationsThis role would be particularly well suited to Psychology, Criminology, Education, Sociology or Youth Work graduates, as well as candidates who have previous experience working with children, young people, SEN or challenging behaviour.
