A well-established, independent property and construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Leeds office. The consultancy delivers professional cost management and project management services across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a supportive and growing team, working with respected developers, investors and property clients throughout Yorkshire and the wider UK.
The Quantity Surveyor Role
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for delivering projects from the early feasibility stages through procurement, construction and final account.
Working closely with clients and project teams, the Quantity Surveyor will provide traditional quantity surveying services alongside Employer's Agent duties. Previous experience acting as an Employer's Agent is essential, and applicants without relevant EA experience will not be considered.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing cost plans, budgets and tender documentation
Managing procurement and contractor appointments
Administering JCT Design and Build contracts
Issuing instructions, certificates and contractual notices
Monitoring project costs, variations and cash flow
Chairing progress meetings and preparing client reports
Completing valuations, final accounts and project close-outThe Quantity Surveyor
The successful Quantity Surveyor must have:
Strong knowledge of JCT Design and Build contracts
Consultancy-based quantity surveying experience
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
MRICS status, or progress towards chartership, is preferred
Excellent commercial, contractual and communication skills
The ability to manage projects independently and represent clients professionally
