This is an excellent opportunity to step away from traditional shift-based and front line clinical work while continuing to use your clinical knowledge, assessment skills, reasoning and professional judgement.
As a Functional Assessor, you'll assess how long-term health conditions and disabilities affect an individual's daily living, mobility and functional ability. You'll conduct structured consultations, consider medical evidence and produce clear, objective and evidence-based reports.
No hands-on care is required, and no previous Functional Assessor experience is necessary.
What you'll do:
Conduct face-to-face, telephone and video assessments
Take detailed clinical histories and ask structured questions
Assess how health conditions and disabilities affect daily activities and functional ability
Review and analyse medical evidence and supporting information
Apply clinical reasoning and professional judgement
Produce accurate, objective and evidence-based reports
Manage your own workload and caseload
Communicate professionally and sensitively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds What You'll Get:
PIP - £45,000 increasing to £47,000 after 12 months (3 detailed reports)
WCA - £48,000 increasing to £49,000 after 12 months (5-6 detailed reports

Current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration
At least 1 year's post-registration clinical experience in an adult setting
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Good clinical reasoning and professional judgement
Excellent report-writing, typing and IT skills
The ability to work independently and manage a caseload
