We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading national training provider looking for an Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices and employers across the South Wales region.
You do not need previous assessing experience. If you’re a qualified Electrician coming directly from industry, you’ll be supported through the relevant assessor qualification.
The role
You’ll manage your own caseload of Electrical apprentices across South Wales, travelling to their workplaces to support them throughout their apprenticeship.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out regular workplace visits and apprentice progress reviews
Assessing apprentices against the requirements of their programme
Monitoring progress and ensuring learners remain on track
Providing coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback
Supporting apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours
Working closely with employers to review apprentice performance and progression
Maintaining accurate learner records and assessment documentation
Supporting apprentices towards successful completion of their programme
Keeping your own electrical knowledge and assessment practice up to date This is not a classroom teaching role. You’ll predominantly be out visiting apprentices and employers across your region, with autonomy to manage your own diary.
What we’re looking for
Level 3 qualified Electrician
Recognised Electrical apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Strong hands-on industry experience within electrical installation and/or maintenance
Good communication and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence
Assessor qualification such as A1 / TAQA is advantageous, but not essential
18th Edition and Inspection & Testing qualifications are advantageous Experienced Electricians coming straight from industry are encouraged to apply, with assessor training and qualifications funded.
