Your new role
As a Bookkeeper, you will manage your own portfolio of clients and become a trusted extension of their finance function. This is a varied, hands-on position where you will work closely with business owners and operational stakeholders, providing accurate financial information and helping clients gain a clearer understanding of their finances.For some clients, you will act as their primary finance contact, building strong relationships and supporting them with day-to-day financial management and decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing bookkeeping activities for a portfolio of SME clients.
Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Supporting clients with cash flow management and financial administration.
Ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and statutory requirements.
Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact.
Using cloud-based accounting systems including Xero and Sage.This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of businesses, giving you exposure to different industries and the chance to play a key role in helping clients achieve their goals.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have proven bookkeeping experience and enjoy building relationships with a variety of clients.You will ideally have:
AAT qualification or be qualified by experience.
At least three years' experience in a bookkeeping position.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero and Sage.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients.
Good commercial awareness and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team environment.What you'll get in return
