About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer / Advisor to support the delivery of an exciting hotel project in Chessington.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager, project team, contractors and subcontractors to promote and maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the project.
You will provide practical site-based health and safety support, monitor compliance, identify risks and ensure appropriate actions are taken to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day health and safety support and guidance to the site and project teams.

Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.

Carry out regular site inspections and safety observations.

Identify hazards and unsafe practices and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

Review and monitor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

Support site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to maintain appropriate health and safety standards.

Monitor the use of PPE and safe working practices.
-
Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations and reporting.

Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

Support the Site Manager and project team with health and safety planning.

Monitor and report health and safety performance and outstanding actions.

Promote a positive health and safety culture across the project.
-
Escalate significant risks or non-compliance to the appropriate project management team.
Essential Requirements

Relevant NEBOSH and/or IOSH qualification.

Previous health and safety experience within a construction/site environment.
-
Good knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
-
Experience carrying out site inspections and monitoring contractor compliance.

Understanding of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Confident engaging with site teams, contractors and subcontractors.
-
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
-
Ability to identify risks and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced site environment.
Desirable
-
Previous experience supporting hotel, commercial, fit-out or refurbishment projects.
-
Experience working on projects involving multiple contractors and trades.
-
Relevant CSCS card.

Experience supporting incident investigations, audits and site safety reporting.
