Stock Controller
Location: M31
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Temp to Perm: Permanent opportunity following successful completion of 3 months
Experience Required: 3+ years’ experience in stock control/inventory management
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy warehouse operation in the M31 area.
As Stock Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and organised individual looking for a long-term position, with the potential to become permanent after 3 months.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor stock levels across the warehouse and storage facilities.

Maintain accurate stock records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Carry out regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.

Ensure all stock movements and transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.

Generate pick notes and relevant warehouse documentation.

Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.

Investigate shortages, damages and over-deliveries.

Monitor batch numbers and dates where applicable, ensuring correct stock rotation using FIFO.

Manage returns, damaged stock and write-offs in line with company procedures.

Ensure warehouse and storage areas are tidy, clearly labelled and well organised.

Follow all warehouse health and safety procedures.

Assist with inventory reports and KPI reporting.

Maintain accurate product and inventory information within company systems.

Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy and warehouse processes.

Provide stock records and supporting documentation for audits when required.

Work closely with warehouse, transport and planning teams to ensure efficient operations.
About You
The successful candidate will be:

Experienced in stock control/inventory management, with at least 3 years' relevant experience.

Numerically confident with strong attention to detail.

Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Confident working between the warehouse and office.
Desirable Skills

Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.

Previous experience working within a busy warehouse/distribution environment.
