Do you have a passion for great food and excellent customer service?

We're looking for a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages, stepping in whenever our catering teams need an extra pair of hands. You'll help deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining excellent standards and creating positive dining experiences for the customers who call our villages home.

What you'll do:

Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals to a high standard.
Support the smooth running of our kitchens, restaurants and bistros.
Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste to deliver a cost-effective service.
Work closely with colleagues to provide a welcoming dining experience for customers.
Provide flexible cover across our Independent Living Villages as and when required.
Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Team Leader.
Guide and support Catering Assistants in delivering a high-quality service.

Who you are:

You hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or above (or are willing to refresh your training where required).
You have demonstrable experience in a similar catering role.
You're passionate about preparing great food and delivering excellent customer service.
You have experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
You understand food hygiene, health and safety requirements, including allergen management and special dietary needs.
You're organised, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
You communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team.
You're flexible and happy to work across different locations to support our services when needed.
You hold a valid UK Driving license to travel between sites.
