Trainee Accounts Assistant / Finance Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Accounts Assistant / Finance Administrator to join an established legal firm based in Devizes. This is a supporting role within the finance team and would suit a graduate, school leaver or someone with previous administration, finance or customer service experience who is looking to build a career within a professional environment.
You will work closely with the wider finance team, providing day-to-day administrative support and assisting with client transactions and financial processes. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, accurate and keen to develop their knowledge of finance within the legal sector.
The Role
Providing general administrative support to the finance team
Assisting with the processing and recording of client transactions
Supporting the team with client account administration
Processing and checking financial documentation
Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
Assisting with the preparation and filing of finance documentation
Supporting with reconciliations and transaction checks
Assisting with incoming and outgoing payments
Responding to internal queries and passing information to the relevant team members
Liaising with fee earners and other departments to obtain required information
Carrying out data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day administrative tasks
Providing additional support during busy periods and month-end
About You
This role is open to candidates at all experience levels, including graduates and those looking to take their first step into a finance career. Previous experience within administration, finance, professional services or a customer-facing environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and comfortable working with confidential information. You will need good attention to detail, strong IT skills and the ability to follow processes carefully. Most importantly, you will be keen to learn, develop your understanding of finance and build a long-term career within a professional legal environment.
