Monday: 3.30pm - 6.00pm
Tuesday: 2.30pm - 6.00pm
Wednesday: 2.30pm - 6.00pm
Thursday: 2.30pm - 6.00pm Total Hours: 13.5 hours per week
About the Role
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Part-Time School Administrator / Receptionist to join a beautiful and well-regarded independent school set in a stunning location on the outskirts of Battle, East Sussex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and thrives on being the friendly, professional face of the school.
Working as part of a supportive and welcoming team, you will provide a high standard of administrative and reception support, ensuring the smooth running of the school's front office during the afternoon and early evening.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors.
Provide a warm, professional and welcoming reception service.
Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with enquiries confidently and efficiently.
Assist with the day-to-day administration of the school office.
Maintain accurate student and administrative records.
Update and manage information using the school's database / Management Information System.
Input and maintain information accurately using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Produce letters, reports, correspondence and other documentation as required.
Manage emails and respond to routine enquiries appropriately.
Support staff with general administrative tasks.
Assist with pupil signing-in/out procedures and other school office processes.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Ensure records and documentation are accurate and up to date.
Work closely with colleagues to provide an efficient and friendly service.
Undertake any other reasonable administrative duties required by the school. About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a busy school reception or front office environment and will be confident managing a varied workload.
You will need to be:
Friendly, approachable and professional, with outstanding interpersonal skills.
Confident and professional when dealing with parents, pupils, staff and visitors.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Comfortable using databases and Management Information Systems.
A confident computer user with good typing skills and accuracy.
An excellent communicator with an outstanding telephone manner.
Calm and professional when working in a busy environment.
A reliable and committed team player.
