About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a School Administrator / Receptionist to join a welcoming and supportive school in Camberwell, South London.
This is an important front-facing role within the school, acting as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff. The successful candidate will be a compassionate, caring and approachable individual who understands the importance of creating a warm, safe and welcoming environment for everyone entering the school.
You will provide a professional reception service alongside supporting the wider school administration team with a range of day-to-day administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, providing a friendly and professional reception service.
Welcome visitors to the school and ensure appropriate sign-in, safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed.
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and respond to general enquiries in a helpful and professional manner.
Manage the school's reception area, ensuring it remains organised, welcoming and professional.
Provide general administrative support to the school office and wider staff team.
Assist with maintaining accurate pupil and school records, ensuring information is kept confidential and up to date.
Support with attendance administration, including recording and following up attendance information where required.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding general school queries.
Assist with the administration of meetings, appointments, letters, forms and other school correspondence.
Support the organisation of school events, trips and activities where required.
Maintain accurate filing and electronic records.
Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing post and school correspondence.
Provide administrative support to senior leaders and other members of the school team.
Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and in line with school policies.
Follow all school safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection procedures.
Provide a calm and reassuring presence for pupils who may require additional support when arriving at reception.
Support the wider school team with general administrative duties as required.About YouThe school is looking for someone who is:
