SEN Teaching Assistant - Eastbourne

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a supportive Primary School in Eastbourne who are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with additional needs who has an EHCP, helping them to engage with their learning and feel confident and supported throughout the school day.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and wants to make a genuine difference to a pupil's progress and wellbeing.
What you'll be doing:
Providing consistent 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with SEN
Helping the pupil access and engage with classroom learning
Supporting their emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence
Following strategies and recommendations outlined within the pupil's EHCP
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide effective support
Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a calm, inclusive environment
Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with the wider school team
We're looking for someone who:
Has at least 6 months' experience working with primary-aged children
Has previous experience supporting children with SEN
Is patient, compassionate and understanding
Can build a trusting relationship with a child and provide consistent support
Is confident working as part of a wider school team
