RM Recruit are excited to be working with a Birmingham based organisation who are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client can offer, flexible hybrid working with the provision of one day working from home and four days working onsite. The working hours consist of 8am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3.30pm on a Friday.
Key Responsibilities

Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, payments and supplier queries.

Overseeing the sales ledger, including raising invoices, allocating payments and following up outstanding balances.

Completing regular bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.

Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date.

Processing financial transactions accurately and maintaining appropriate records.

Assisting with general finance administration and providing support to the wider finance team.

Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and customers as required.
Person Specification
-
Previous experience in a similar finance role.

Strong understanding of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes.

Experience completing bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

Good knowledge of month-end processes and financial reporting requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively within a team.
-
A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software would be advantageous.
