Health Information and Credentialing Manager
HIM - RHIA - RHIT
This position is onsite at Banner Rehabilitation Hospital Monday through Friday.
*This position coordinates, supervises and performs concurrent and retrospective qualitative/quantitative analysis of medical records. It requires the maintaining of accurate accounting of incomplete and delinquent medical records. This position works with clinical staff to acheive timely completion of medical records, including communication of incomplete and delinquent record notices. Attention to detail in performing chart correction activities needed. Also performs release of information within state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Health Information Manager is responsible for the directing, coordinating and supervising health information management services, consistent with established policies, regulatory requirements and laws. As applicable, responsible for coordinating core aspects of credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging functions for medical and allied staff. Functions include ensuring compliance to regulatory, medical staff bylaws and hospital policies governing credentialing practices, and accurate credentialing files for medical and allied staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field is required
Current credentials as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or RHIT-eligible status, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or RHIA-eligible status, as required by state regulation
Preferred Experience
One to three (1-3) years experience in a Health Information or Credentialing Department preferred.
Broad-based knowledge of PC based software systems, and exposure to computerized clinical information management systems.
Effective written and oral skills.
