As a Substance Abuse Counselor & Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Nystrom & Associates, you will maintain an outpatient therapy case load while designing and implementing effective, compassionate, and creative treatment/interventions reflective of patients who are diagnosed with a primary mental health disorder and a secondary substance use disorder.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for providing a high level of care to all outpatient patients, have strong organizational skills, enjoy collaborating with others, strong group and individual therapy skills and have an interest in continuing to develop competencies as a clinician.
We are a team of mental health professionals that specialize in psychiatric evaluations, clinical social work, substance use disorders and family therapy. We are committed to helping patients in our community who are experiencing personal, emotional, marriage, family or psychological problems. Founded in 1991, we offer an intensive outpatient substance use disorder program, psychological testing, and behavioral health and medication management services.
Job Duties:
Designs and implements treatment/intervention reflective of identified patient needs, stated in terms of expected outcome, including strategy to achieve stated outcomes.
Facilitate mental health and substance use co-occurring groups, complete diagnostic assessments, 1:1 therapy and case management.
Maintains EEHR patient records in accordance with policy requirements.
Builds and maintains full-time caseload.
Completes and bills documentation for sessions within 24 hours.
Attends and participates in required clinical staff meetings and case consultation groups.
Consult with Addiction Services as needed.
Responsible for timely completion of patient prior authorizations and other necessary insurance processing information.
Follows policies and procedures of Nystrom & Associates, Ltd.
Responds to patient complaints in coordination with Clinic Director.
Consults with Clinical Site Director and/or Addiction Services Treatment Director on complex cases.
Will make internal and external referrals as appropriate.
Supports and participates in the marketing of the clinic.
Qualifications:
Mental Health Professional as per Wisconsin regulations with an unrestricted Wisconsin license as a:
Licensed as a Mental Health Professional as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT),and/or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Ability to work in a positive and cooperative fashion.
Applicants with a dual licensure of a CSAC are preferred but not required.
Mental Health Professional must have identified substance use and/or addiction competencies.
