Bridgeway is looking for a Judicial Based Therapist located within the Knox County Sherriff's Department.

The Judicial-Based Therapist position is located within the Knox County Sheriff's Department jail, providing therapy/counseling using a variety of therapeutic modalities in the areas of mental health and substance use for those individuals currently incarcerated and experiencing behavioral health issues. Provides therapy/counseling services for those in placement at the Knox County Sheriff's detention location consistent with individualized Consumer Centered Plan based on assessment information and medical necessity.
Provides input into the Sheriff's Department and legal system on progress and recommendations for consumers served.
Provides clinical observation, check-in for inmates in segregation, check-in and review of inmates on suicide watch.
Provides consultation and education to Bridgeway staff and members of the surrounding communities to promote a better understanding and acceptance of mental illness, substance use and the concept of recovery.
Provides crisis intervention services as needed as a backup to the Bridgeway Emergency Services Team. Crisis intervention may be needed within the jail setting or in the field to assist the Sheriff's Department personnel.
Our minimum requirements include a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field with an internship in counseling is required. LCPC, LCSW or LMFT licensure or licensure-eligible degree and willingness to work toward licensure is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Employment with Bridgeway is conational based on the completion of all background checks.
