*Job Summary: *
As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing mammographic examinations to assist in the diagnosis of breast diseases and abnormalities. Your primary role will involve operating mammography equipment, positioning patients for imaging procedures, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of images. Additionally, you will provide compassionate care to patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive breast imaging services.
*About the Facility: *This facility is a multispecialty diagnostic and treatment center with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals offering a range of medical specialties including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Podiatry, and Endocrinology. On-site radiology services also available.
*Responsibilities:*
* Perform mammographic examinations on patients according to established protocols and procedures.
* Position patients and adjust equipment settings to obtain high-quality images of the breasts.
* Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, examination results, and imaging findings.
* Evaluate mammographic images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy, identifying any artifacts or abnormalities.
* Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to review images, discuss findings, and develop patient care plans.
* Assist with image-guided breast biopsies and other interventional procedures as needed.
* Monitor equipment performance and perform routine maintenance and quality control checks to ensure optimal image quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure to ionizing radiation.
* Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in mammography technology and breast imaging.
*Qualifications:*
* Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology or related field.
* ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Mammography.
* NYS licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist
* CPR/BLS certification
* Prior experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.
* Strong knowledge of mammography equipment, techniques, and positioning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients undergoing breast imaging procedures.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to stand, walk, and maneuver equipment for extended periods.
* Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for positioning patients .

Pay: $47.00 - $50.00 per hour
