We are looking to add a PT Night Shift Respiratory Therapist who can work independently for a set rotating 2-week schedule on the 7p-7a shift (schedule to be discussed at interview)!
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assess and monitor the respiratory status of residents and document as such, as well as report significant changes to nursing staff and/or physician. Administer respiratory medications and other treatments as prescribed by the physician and document as such. Perform routine ventilator checks and troubleshoot any problems or inconsistencies. Also, perform equipment rounds and distribute clean equipment as per Policy and Procedure. Serve as a resource to the nursing staff and other disciplines.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The employee is to work independently, providing quality respiratory care within the licensing guidelines for Respiratory Care Practitioners established by the State of Pennsylvania.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
*Administer medications, oxygen, treatments and various forms of respiratory care;
*Perform routine ventilator checks and maintenance;
*Monitor and document resident’s respiratory status by means of physical assessment;
*Instruct staff and residents on various respiratory rehabilitative services.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidate must be a certified or registered respiratory therapist with a current license to practice respiratory care in the state of Pennsylvania. Candidate must also be able to lift at least 25 lbs., read and write English, and be able to prioritize and work independently.
