Responsibilities:
We are seeking an *Ultrasound Technologist*, also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at St Mary’s Medical Center (Blue Springs, MO) a member of Prime Healthcare. The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. Ultrasound Technologists play a critical role in the diagnostic process by providing high-quality ultrasound images that assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

_*Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):*_
* interact with patients to explain the procedure, obtain relevant medical history, and address any concerns or questions, ensure patient comfort and privacy during the ultrasound examination, and assist with positioning patients to optimize imaging
* operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images based on the specific clinical indication or area of interest
* use a handheld transducer (probe) to transmit high-frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create images, manipulate the transducer and adjust imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image quality
* interpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology that may be present and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians
* may perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosis
* may specialize or work in a broad array of specialties including obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds, breast, or abdominal sonography, you will also assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures
Qualifications:
*Education and Work Experience*
* RDMS (ARDMS) or S (ARRT) certification in at least one body or region required within 90 days of hire and maintain
* graduate an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire
* previous experience preferred
* current BCLS (AHA) certificate
* proficient computer skills
