POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate is a professional who is responsible for fulfilling the logistics behind receiving, processing, and loading freight. They also ensure that loading/unloading schedules are met with attention to detail to ensure timely delivery, load outs, and loss/damage prevention. The Warehouse Associate will be familiar with different modes of transportation and will be creative in developing an array of unique solutions to problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely load and unload trailers.
Keep warehouse organized.
Prepare freight for evening and next day trailers.
Be aware of potential safety issues.
Maintain TSA eligibility requirement.
Handle arrival and departure of line hauls.
Split and create line hauls.
Enter dims and weights.
Update piece counts and ref numbers.
Add document notes.
Understand and utilize transport and warehouse systems.
Update and scan paperwork into systems.
File all warehouse paperwork accordingly.
Load and unload of trailers.
Stack and secure loads in trailers.
Crate/De-crate of material.
Dispose of debris from deliveries.
Palletize and rework material.
Clean up warehouse and yard and dispose of trash.
Follow all policies and procedures.
Responsible for executing operational tasks safely, following safety protocols, and reporting any near miss or injury timely and via internal established process.
Participate in a wide variety of other projects and tasks, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Solid foundational communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work, multitask, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-starter attitude that shows initiative.
Basic understanding of transport CRMs.
Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual.
Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, pallet jack, and various small hand tools.
Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
Fluent in English.
Ability to work extended hours, and potential weekend shifts during high operational volume and end of quarters.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of standing.
Use of hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and use foot/feet to operate forklift.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
Up to 40% of daily tasks include driving and operating a forklift.
Fast paced work environment requires extended periods of mental focus and critical thinking.
