The Neurosciences Program at Advocate Aurora HealthCare is rapidly growing, and neuropsychology is a valued part of this multidisciplinary team that delivers comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals with complex neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders. Primary responsibilities for this position include neuropsychological evaluations of children and adolescents in an outpatient clinic setting. Patient referrals come from pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, and other services throughout the Advocate Aurora system. Providers accurately complete all documentation responsibilities as outlined in department/service area procedures and do so within established timelines. Neuropsychologists also assists in education and training activities designed to enhance clinical staff skills and act as a clinical resource to staff and to the community. Neuropsychologists participate in education and training activities in hospitals and outpatient clinics as needed.
This position is primarily clinical. Experience working with both medical/neurological and developmentally based patient populations is highly preferred. Additionally, neuropsychologists act as a resource and provide consultation to clinical staff in the interpretation of results and its impact on the treatment plan of the patient. Opportunities for research and training of graduate students are available if desired. Qualified candidates will have completed a 2-year fellowship in neuropsychology, are license-eligible in the state of Wisconsin, and are board certified or eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology.
The Neuropsychology Department at Advocate Aurora Health Care consists of 9 adult neuropsychologists and 3 pediatric neuropsychologists. Advocate Aurora is the largest healthcare system in Wisconsin. Degrees
Doctorate Degree in Psychology.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 2 years of experience in post-doctoral clinical experience and in appropriate supervised training applying neuropsychological services in a clinical setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Successful completion of systematic didactic and experimental training in neuropsychology and neuroscience at a regionally accredited university. Eligibility for listing in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Skilled as a generalist and has one or more specializations. Extensive knowledge and skills in the application of theory, practice and techniques of behavioral health and/or substance abuse treatment services. Demonstrated ability to function in a complex mental health delivery system.
