Responsibilities & Duties:
As a member of the Pastry/Bread team the Counter Associate takes pride in acquiring a vast knowledge of our pastry and bread products. You have an eye for detail, ensuring clean display presentation at all times for all products, while also delivering an exceptional guest service by being proactive and sharing your product knowledge with guests. You will take on the responsibilities of monitoring waste, of being a strong team player, and leading by example.
Prepare, bake and package an assortment of fresh baked breads daily.
Ensure freshness and quality of products by closely adhering to rotation and dating policy; product displaying.
Help department to maximize sales by providing exceptional guest service.
Receive and package fresh baked pastry items from our warehouse facility daily.
Clean and maintain department equipment (cutting boards, scales, knives, oven etc.).
Keep records of temperatures and record inventory of products to determine what needs to be ordered and replenished.
Follow, maintain and perform safety and sanitation procedures; throughout all shifts.
Communicate effectively with peers and management.
Always maintain professionalism and treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
Must always be guest focus and forward facing.
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year with food handling, guest service and sales experience.
Exceptional guest service, organization, and merchandizing skills.
Ability to retain product knowledge.
Ability to act with a sense of urgency and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
Possesses problem solving skills.
Empowered team player willing to assist fellow associates.
The associate is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 20 – 50 pounds
Maintain a clean and safe environment by following Citarella standards
Other duties may be assigned as business needs change.
