POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator will have a major focus on our customer and carrier relations. The Logistics Coordinator will be familiar with different modes of transportation and will be creative in developing an array of unique solutions to problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inbound/Outbound entry creation.
Manage pick/pack/pull shipment orders.
Inventory control.
Load/Unload.
Monitor shipments – Fulfillment and tracking.
Tracking and Tracing shipments via phone, internet and ours and others traffic management operating system.
Transmits documents and data to various parties.
Determines profit margin for services rendered to customer while considering customer’s specifications.
Tracks location and movement of shipments on a daily basis.
Determines corrective action on shipments delayed, lost, damaged, or astray to best minimize impact to customer and to Company costs.
Maintains integrity of traffic management operating system by inputting accurate and timely data.
Contacts customers with updates and follow up and shipments.
Reviews procedures and updates for the operating system.
Maintains and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly shipment status reports to customers and team members.
Organizes and maintains filing systems for shipments, carrier insurance documents, and proofs of delivery.
Being able to handle all warehouse tasks that are assigned to them.
Update piece counts and ref numbers.
Load and unload trailers, as needed.
Palletize and de-crate materials for customer programs.
Debris disposal.
Responsible for executing operational tasks safely, following safety protocols, and reporting any near miss or injury timely and via internal established process.
Participate in a wide variety of other projects and tasks, as requested.
Maintain and care for all equipment and tools.
Customer service face of the company to our customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Solid foundational communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work, multitask, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-starter attitude that shows initiative.
Basic understanding of transport CRMs.
Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual.
Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, pallet jack, and various small hand tools.
Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
Ability to critically think and problem solve.
Fluent in English.
Ability to work extended hours, and potential weekend shifts during high operational volume and end of quarters.
Solid customer service skills as this is a customer facing position.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of standing.
Use of hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and use foot/feet to operate forklift.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
Up to 40% of daily tasks include driving and operating a forklift.
Fast paced work environment requires extended periods of mental focus and critical thinking.
