Watercrest Richmond is looking for a Dining Room Server/Wait Staff to join their Culinary team! As a key member of the team, your warm smile and greeting will welcome our residents, associates, and guests into fully experiencing a Watercrest Culinary Experience, filled with the deliciousness of fine dining, as well as the comfort of a home-like environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assist residents with seating in the dining room
· Greet residents when taking and serving meal selections
· Ensure proper dining room setup and proper table setting
· Knowledge of table clearing techniques during and after dining service
· Responsible for resetting table during and after dining service
· General duties include but are not limited to: cleaning, mopping, sweeping, and dusting the kitchen and dining room
· Ensures proper garbage and trash removal
· Complete side work: napkin folding, stocking and cleaning wait station, refilling condiments
· Understand menu items and ability to explain preparation methods
· Provide a high satisfactory level of customer service to promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
· Knowledge of individual diet needs as prescribed by physician
· Ensure all meals delivered are garnished
· Reports to the Cook or Executive Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed
· Ensures the proper use of equipment and supplies and upholds cleaning and safety standards
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contacts
· Able to make independent decisions
· Must be able to communicate a warm, friendly and caring manner
· Must be able to follow recipes and menus
· Must fully understand the importance of reliability and timeliness
· Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
· Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Graduate or equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience in serving in an upscale dining environment is preferred
FT, 6am-2pm or 11am-7:30pm
availability for weekend rotation required
