Responsibilities:
* Supports the coordination and integration of critical care units across Inova Health System to include an understanding of nursing capabilities at each hospital. Leads critical care practice through collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers across the health system.
* Reduces clinical variation across critical care nursing through the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practices.
* Provides critical care clinical expertise for the medicine service line to support nursing practice. Develops communication processes to facilitate the provision of care amongst the multidisciplinary team.
* Designs and leads education to support critical care initiatives.
* Develops meaningful process and outcome metrics for critical care initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
* Develops and leads quality improvement projects based upon opportunities identified by clinical teams, quality metrics, or event reporting systems.
* Coordinates the evaluation of devices and equipment in collaboration with the value analysis team to ensure clinical teams have the supplies needed to provide care.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills:
* Master's Degree Nursing
* Minimum 4 years of acute care nursing experience and 1 year of quality improvement experience
* CCRN or CCRN-K within 12 months of start date
* License or eligible for license in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
