HR & Payroll Administrator
Bradford-based (hybrid working, typically 2-3 days per week in the office)
25 hours per week, worked across 5 days
£19,286 - £20,714 per annum (FTE £27,000 - £29,000)
The best HR teams get the basics right.
Contracts issued when they should be. New starters feel welcomed and prepared. Payroll runs smoothly. Records are accurate. Managers and their teams get the support they need when they need it. Hundreds of small things done well, every day.
We’re looking for an HR & Payroll Administrator to help us support colleagues across the UK and Australia, while ensuring processes behind the scenes run smoothly, accurately and efficiently.
About the role
You’ll get involved with every aspect of the employee lifecycle. Some days you'll be helping managers recruit new members of their team, from placing adverts and coordinating applications through to preparing everything a new starter needs before their first day. Others might involve drafting HR documentation or helping collate information for payroll.
Alongside that, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for HR queries from colleagues across the business. Sometimes you’ll be able to resolve these yourself; other times you’ll work with the rest of the team to make sure the query gets to the person best placed to help. As part of a three-person HR team, you'll gain broad experience across HR rather than specialising in a single area, giving you exposure to almost every stage of the employee lifecycle.
About you
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, pays attention to detail and gets genuine satisfaction from a job well done.
You’ll enjoy this role if you:
-
Have experience working in an HR environment and understand the fundamentals of HR administration and the employee lifecycle
-
Take pride in accuracy and organisation, and enjoy bringing structure to a busy environment.
-
Accept the responsibility of being trusted with confidential information
-
Like solving problems and finding ways to improve how things work.
-
Are keen to learn. Previous payroll experience isn't essential and neither is experience of supporting teams internationally. We'll help you develop both, including exposure to our Australian operations and the opportunity to learn about a different employment environment.
About us
In the HR team, everyone has their own area of responsibility and the autonomy the take ownership of their work. At the same time, we work closely together, share knowledge and step in to support each other when needed. We’re looking for someone who enjoys both the accountability that comes with ownership and the collaboration that comes from being part of a team.
We work in a hybrid way, with colleagues typically spending 2-3 days per week in our Bradford office. The role is 25 hours per week, worked across five days, with flexibility around start and finish times to be agreed with the successful candidate.
