Administrative Officer - Public Sector Opportunity in Northampton
Location: CNBC, 21-27 St Katherines Street, Northampton, NN1 2LH
Hourly Rate: £13.25 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm (37 hours/week)
Contract Duration: Immediate start, initially 9 months with potential extension based on performance and client needs
Our client, a reputable government organisation, is seeking a proactive and adaptable Administrative Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience within the public sector, supporting vital services and working in a dynamic environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Handling calls from the public, providing assistance with claims and queries
- Maintaining regular contact with court staff across processing sites nationwide
- Resolving customer queries through various contact channels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Scheduling appointments and communicating with customers via phone and email
- Preparing routine correspondence and updating in-house systems
- Acting as an administrative liaison with internal and external contacts
- Following set procedures, exercising independent judgment under supervision
What you'll bring:

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Additional details:
- Full training provided over two weeks, with no holidays during induction
- Basic DBS clearance required (training provided)
- Candidates who have spent over 6 months outside the UK in the last 3 years may need to provide an overseas police check
